With the slogan ‘No conflict, we want Bangladesh, we want unity’, the formal program of the discussion meeting was held at the auditorium of Cox’s Bazar Model High School on the initiative of PFG members of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila and with the full cooperation of The Hunger Project Bangladesh.
The president of the event gave a welcome speech, Chief Advisor of Cox’s Bazar Peace Ambassador District Network-PADN. Manzoor Alam, KM Ramzan Ali, head teacher of Cox’s Bazar Model High School, spoke as the chief guest. Advocate Syed Md. Rezaur Rahman Reza, Special Public Prosecutor of Cox’s Bazar Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal-2 and Joint Convener of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Awami League spoke as the main speaker.

In his speech, Chief Guest said that violence against women is the most serious social problem of the present time. To solve this problem, the state provides various legal assistance to women. Still, violence against women does not stop. In such a situation, along with the government, the citizens should also be aware of this.
In the speech of the special guest, he said, in order to stop police assistance in preventing violence against women, violence or torture against women is physical, sexual or mental abuse or neglect of women by parents, other guardians, friends, classmates or anyone else. And in the present time, this type of oppression on our beloved daughters or mothers and sisters has increased to such an extent that it cannot be controlled in any way. In such a situation, our future generation will not see the face of women if the family and the state as well as the conscious part of the society do not come forward against women abuse and rape. They will remain in the dark. For this reason, he requested to present the information of various services of Bangladesh Police in case of any incident.
Among the guests who came to the meeting were Vice President of Cox’s Bazar District Women’s League Helenaz Tahera, Cox’s Bazar Girls’ High School Principal Masuda Morshed Ivy, Baitush Sharaf Jabbaria Academy’s Teaching Teacher Chayed Karim, Journalist S.M. Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Josna Iqbal, Zafar Alam Didar, Bulbul E. Jannat and others.
The speakers said that men should come forward along with women in preventing violence against women. Everyone should be careful that no one commits rape in the name of love or friendship.
At the end of the meeting, in the chief guest’s speech, District Education Officer Nasir Uddin said, Bangladesh has become a sanctuary for women abusers and rapists. Children and women are subjected to brutal oppression in cities, villages, hills, plains, educational institutions and workplaces. This situation can no longer be tolerated. We all have to come together to control this situation. A social movement should be built against the oppressors and oppressors. Besides, the implementation of existing laws and religious guidelines to prevent child abuse and rape should be done to a full extent.
